Last night the litter critters got a change of scenery! They moved from the 4 x 4 whelping box in an upstairs bedroom to the middle of the downstairs kitchen/den area. Their box came with, but the front is opened up into a large space for them to explore.

It appears Cadie and the pups appreciate all the extra room and now it is even easier to sit and watch pups as the time just slips away! They’ll stay in this spot for a week or so and then another space expansion will be in order.

Over the next week, they will begin to get introduced to solid food as their little digestive systems are preparing for food other than mom’s milk. Now that they can hear it is important to begin to expose them to all sorts of household sounds – vacumn cleaners, TVs, cabinet doors closing, etc.
